Capturing content on the move. How Momentum documented Kwik Fit’s noble efforts through media production in aid of Children with Cancer UK
Following on from our long-standing relationship with Kwik Fit, the team was tasked with producing the creative, videography and photography the brand’s annual charity activation with Children with Cancer UK. The goal was simple… a team of Kwik Fit employees would cycle a combined total of 2,500 miles around the UK to help raise £1million for the charity in 2019 and so the Tour de Branch was created!
Kwik Fit, true to name, quickly enlisted Momentum to help capture the journey first hand. The team produced a shotlist featuring three main components:
- BRANCHES – B-Roll of riders entering branch car parks, enjoying refreshments, talking with the staff, celebrating and general soundbites/interviews with the riders
- KEY STOP OFFS – Shots of riders taking refreshments/breaking at key locations, soundbites about how the journey was going, close-ups of riders preparing to head off again and taking photos of key landmarks along the way
- IN TRANSIT – Tracking shots of the riders from the back of a car, GoPro shots, drone shots and general fly-bys
To capture these three components the team had to plan ahead, stopping off at different parts of the journey. Coinciding with the cyclist’s route and gather as much footage as possible without hindering the journey of the participants. Check out the full highlights video on Kwik Fit YouTube Channel.
A full media production activation.
As well as media production on-event, the team was tasked with creating a buzz about the campaign on digital platforms. For instance Momentum created a series of infographics, video animations and creative templates. Enabling the Kwik Fit team to quickly edit and post at all stages of the journey. Creative media like this requires blue-sky thinking. As well as meticulous planning in order to be effective and time-efficient.
A lasting impression.
The team put in an incredible amount of effort throughout the tour, helping Kwik Fit raise money for Children with Cancer UK. The team activated the six-week campaign through social, digital and motorsport platforms all with one aim! Although the Tour is over, you can still help the team to raise money for this incredible charity by donating here.
